ATCHISON, KSSteve Pickman, vice president of corporate relations at MGP Ingredients, Inc. (MGPI) announced that Shanae Randolph has been appointed corporate communications manager at the company. Her principal responsibilities will focus on internal as well as external communications and include the development of publicity, advertising and marketing support materials, website management and event planning.

We are very pleased to welcome Shanae to MGPI, Pickman said. She possesses outstanding communications skills and is capable adapting those skills to a wide range of formats and venues that are required to keep our various publics informed. I am highly confident in her abilities to help move our corporate relations initiatives forward, particularly in the areas of public, community and media relations. Pickman added that in addition to her primary responsibilities, Randolph will assist with certain activities and projects previously managed by Steve Wilson, Jr., former director of marketing services. Wilson recently stepped down from his position with the company to pursue other career objectives.

Prior to joining MGPI, Randolph spent six years as economic development and convention and visitors bureau director for the city of Lansing, KS. Her responsibilities in this capacity included the creation of promotional and informational materials, grant-writing, publicity management, oversight of the citys newsletter, government access television channel and website, and organization of special events and celebrations. Randolph previously gained professional experience in advertising and public relations through internships with Juhl Marketing Communications, Mishawaka, IN, and the Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce. She also spent two summers as a staff writer for the Atchison Bureau of the St. Joseph, MO News-Press daily newspaper.

Randolph is a native of Atchison and a 1997 graduate of Maur Hill-Mount Academy. She received a bachelor of arts degree in communications from St. Marys College, Notre Dame, IN, in 2001 and has also studied abroad, attending the National University of Ireland during the 1998-99 academic year.

Randolph has served as chairperson of the Lansing Convention and Tourism Committee, Economic Development Committee and Cable Advisory Board, and is a former member of the Kansas Regional Prisons Museum Board of Directors. She also has been a member of the Travel Industry Association of Kansas and the Kansas Economic Development Alliance.
