Revlon Introduces Skin Care Lines Containing NaturalIngredients

NEW YORK--Revlon is the latest cosmetic company to jump on the naturalproduct bandwagon. On Oct. 6, the company introduced "skinbrighteners" and general skin care lines for 2001--Revlon's Skinlights FaceIlluminators and Vitamin C Absolutes.

According to the company, Revlon is strengthening its brand portfolio withinnovative cosmetics that focus on the skin care category. This move is anattempt to "aggressively capture" opportunities in the skin carecategory by developing and marketing innovations that meet consumer needs.

"These product announcements represent what we believe will be thebeginning of the strongest new product pipeline Revlon has presented inyears," said Jeffrey Nugent, chief executive officer and president ofRevlon. "And it's not just new products that we're bringing to market, it'sbrand new ideas for the cosmetics industry."

Revlon Skinlights Face Illuminators is a new makeup category and will beavailable in January 2001. This line contains rose quartz, mother of pearl andtopaz that work together to illuminate skin. These products are available aslotions, coverage sticks and loose powders.

"Revlon Skinlights Face Illuminators are a color alternative tofoundation," said Cheryl Vitali, executive vice president and generalmanager at Revlon Brand Equity Group. "The concept is to use lightreflection instead of color coverage to enhance skin and produce a radiant andglowing effect."

Vitamin C Absolutes is a six-product collection that contains vitamin C, anantioxidant that, according to Revlon, fights free radicals and preserves skin'sessential oils. This line has SPF 15 protection and is targeted toward womenbetween the ages of 18 and 34.
