Cargill Introduces CoroWise in Europe

MINNEAPOLIS—Cargill introduced its CoroWise Naturally Sourced Cholesterol Reducer™ brand of plant sterols available in a non-genetically modified form, to the European market. Launched in the United States in 2003, CoroWise plant sterols are cholesterollowering active ingredients that can be added to foods and beverages. They have been shown to lower cholesterol and are approved for use in the European Union (EU) in a variety of foods. “Good-tasting, efficacious functional foods are experiencing a greater acceptance by mainstream consumers than ever before,” said David Henstrom, general manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Cargill Health & Food Technologies (www.cargill.com). “We’re committed to promoting heart health by bringing easy-toformulate forms of CoroWise plant sterols to a broader audience.”
