Japanese MAFF Approves QAI Japan

SAN DIEGO--Quality Assurance International's (QAI) wholly owned subsidiary,QAI Japan Ltd., announced in October that it was approved by the JapaneseMinistry of Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries (MAFF). QAI clients will nowbe able to carry the certified-organic Japanese Agricultural Standards (JAS)seal. This certification meets the requirement that all imported products toJapan must be certified by an approved organization that is incorporated inJapan.

"Until now, if a company wanted to export organic product to Japan, itsonly options were to hire a Japanese certification agency or work through acomplicated series of steps," said Joe Smillie, senior vice president ofQAI. Currently, QAI holds governmental accreditations for Japan, the UnitedStates and Canada, as well as a private accreditation for the European Union.For more information, visit www.qai-inc.com.
