WASHINGTON--On Feb. 7, eight members of the environmentalsafety group Greenpeace unloaded more than a ton of corn near the offices of thenew Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) chief, Christie Todd Whitman. Theprotesters, dressed in white biohazard suits, created the wall of corn, representing the StarLink issue, to remind Whitman that "the genetic foodfight is awaiting her attention," according to a press release.
The Greenpeace press release also said it expected that Whitman would nameLinda Fisher, a former Monsanto executive, as EPA Deputy Administrator, and thatwas another reason for the act.
